Boost Your Immune System to a Healthy, Wealthy and Wise Life
Protecting Yourself with Changing Seasons
I am sure most of us have noticed when mother nature changes seasons the weather transition between seasons creates havoc with our health; physical or mental.
The heating and cooling trends back and forth take its toll on our physical health and the change from light to darkness or even darkness to light has fun with our mental health.
Words to Boost Your Immune System
Healthy, Wealthy and Wise or as Benjamin Franklin quoted as saying:
“Early to bed and early to rise makes a man healthy, wealthy, and wise.”
Feel free to substitute your name instead of “a man”; in Franklin’s saying. Benjamin talked about being healthy before wealthy or wise.
Going to bed early has always had distractions including Night Outs on the Town, more recently TV including the Netflix button right on your TV remote and a ton of other technological advances.
Going to bed late, and getting up early is generally not in the same breath; creating real challenges.
To build Healthy, Wealth and Wise into your daily mantra and using the method of “early to bed and early to rise” as your challenge catalyst you have to understand the definition of challenge.
Challenge
A challenge is a call to engage in any contest, skill or strength. (Dictionary.com)
“Challenge Your Inner Self” is a saying often heard. Do you see the challenge of your inner self as a contest, skill or strength?
Your mental makeup has much to do with whether you envision challenges as a contest, skill or strength.
How you approach a contest, skill or strength requires a different strategy?
If you are looking for complete supremacy over the challenge; then a contest format for your inner self might work best, and you may even challenge others to join you in this challenge.
I am living proof this is a great philosophy to live.
I wanted to drop my percentage of body fat content and was having a hard time motivating myself; it took a challenge with a good friend of mine and a sports watch as the prize for me to lower my body fat percentage. My good friend bought me a beautiful sports watch; a happy ending for me; better health and a new sports watch.
The big lesson for me as an “A” type personality is I need a challenge and someone to compete against to bring out my personal best.
Have you given thought to what is the strongest motivator for you to win a personal challenge?
Strong Challenge Cure
Here I am over 14 years later and have gone on to run over 50 1/2 marathons and have managed to keep my weight lower than I was 14 years ago.
Even though I am more active than I was 14 years ago, eat healthier, lost a little weight, have set personal bests in my running life it has taken all of this focus on health to ensure I continue to make and maintain improvements in my health.
The Change-Up
Last spring I set a goal to run for 65 days in a row as part of my overall health and fitness training. I had not ever run more than 3 or 4 days in a row before; running 65 days in a row would be a real challenge.
One More For Good Luck; is my wife’s favourite mantra.
Mission accomplished, and I added one extra day on for Good Luck and ran 66 days in a row.
With spring just around the corner, I am thinking about what is my Change-up for this year.
Change is as Good as a Rest – Make it a Challenge
With spring almost upon us; make a change to your normal routine; shake things up and challenge yourself.
Much Success and drop me a note on what you are going to do differently to
” Spring Forward.”
