Time is Your Most Important Asset; How Do You Love to Invest Yours?
Early in life, how we live our passions and how we spend our time is dictated by others.
As a child, we are drawn to many different interests. Some of our interests are self-directed; however, our parents, family, or friends encourage many of us to live out their interests and activities.
We learn these interests cost money; therefore, we rely on our parents or grandparents to spend funds on these activities.
As we move into adulthood, we take on the financial responsibility of paying for our passions.
Making a Living Robs Us of Many of Our Passions Until Later in Life
Unless you are the few, who can turn your passion into a way of funding your life, most of us end up in a career to earn a living. Your job offers you a small amount of time for paid vacation, four percent to eight percent. The rest of your time is for paid work, ninety-two to ninety-six percent.
We are so busy earning money we don’t take the time to take control of these funds. We let others invest our hard-earned cash. With most of our time working, is it a little wonder you don’t want to give personal time for learning to invest? In addition, we wonder why our financial returns are often not as good as we had hoped.
We have to wait until later in life to be financially able to live one or some of our passions.
The positive news is that we have longer life expectancies and have more time to live our passions.
Extra Time to Plan Your Passion
The recent pandemic is taking the morning and evening commute from our workday. Many of us created a side hustle with this time.
In several areas globally, the United States and the United Kingdom got a handle on the pandemic through their vaccine rollout. These areas not only got their first shots in their citizens’ arms, above all, the second shots.
The rest of the world is playing catch up, and in some countries like India, the situation has gotten worse than in 2020.
As a global people, this means we are still far from yesterday’s normal, pre-pandemic.
Opportunity
Continue to use the time you have been given not to make the commute to and from work and start to negotiate a hybrid work model with your employer. I don’t think your employer will continue to be as generous with your work schedule going forward.
As we wrestle this pandemic to the ground, look to be clear now on how you would like to mix commuting to work and from home and working from home with your employer.
There are no more hours in the day; don’t give up the ones you have used for your side hustle.
Use the time this crazy pandemic has given you to invest in your life passions.

In my book, 31 Days to Purchasing and Renting Your First Investment Real Estate Property, written during the height of the pandemic. (now on Amazon for pre-order, release date August 19, 2021) I mention we live in a busy world.
Over the last ten years, I have been able to rely on our investment real estate to live out my passions on my bucket list, including running seven 1/2 marathons in one year. I became a Running Rock Legend, travelling mostly to the continental United States (seven states) to complete the task.
