Breakthrough Reasons for Women; The How to of An Investment Real Estate Portfolio

Strong Women in My Life

My mother and grandmother were ahead of their times, and I did not even know this; why?  Because in our household it was normal.

I come from a strong family background where my mother and father shared equally in raising the family.  My mother was a working mother and for years earned more money than my father.  My father was in the Armed Forces and even though it was a great life for all of us; the money was not always the best.

Next week I have an exceptional guest on my podcast show; Shelley Collins.  You will hear Shelley’s story in her own words including piecing her life back together following an end in a marriage, raising daughters of her own and building a business.  Shelley’s story involves the importance of real estate in piecing her life back together.

Women should not have to have a man in their life for financial support; they should have a man in their life as an equal partner.

With many marriages ending in divorce and this brings a new set of challenges.  These challenges include how to be more self-sufficient.

When your marriage ends, it usually means the end of the White Picket Fence Home, and you have to downsize to be able to afford a roof over your head and provide for your family.  Not everyone today has the family infrastructure like in the days of old.

How do you as a woman; piece your life back together put a roof over your head and build an investment real estate portfolio?

Much of the advice I offer through my website is focused on first-time investment real estate investors.

If you are a woman coming out of a white picket fence situation and trying to figure out how do you continue to own your own home and build an investment real estate portfolio here is a simple technique; I call, “A Roof and Rent.”

A Roof and Rent Investment Portfolio Technique

Many times folks coming out of a lousy marriage have bought a home with their spouse, and this home purchased with two salaries to qualify and afford the mortgage payments on this home.

Your marriage ends, and you have some equity built up in your family home; original downpayment amount, mortgage principle pay down and if you are lucky a little equity appreciation.

Now What?

A Roof and Rent Investment Portfolio Technique is dedicated to you getting your life back on track.

You need a beautiful roof over your head, a home for your kids and a way to fund an investment real estate portfolio for your future financial foundational needs.

Many of today’s residential lots are small and don’t have much green space for kids to play.

I recommend when you are restarting your life consider looking at older neighborhoods that have great backyards, treed streets and reenergized schools and recreational facilities.

Buy an Older Bungalow

Buy an older bungalow with great bones (structure) that needs some cosmetic work. You will find many municipal governments have secondary suite programs and will give you money to renovate.  The obligation to receive this money is to meet a certain construction standard ( these standards are not unreasonable), a capped rental rate ( they are fair) and a duration to keep the secondary suite in the program usually for five years (goes by quick as you are piecing your life back together).

Focusing on building an investment real estate portfolio is a great way to starting constructing a strong financial foundation; are you ready to learn and are you up for the challenge?

Know that you are not alone; stay tuned next week to both my blog posts and podcast show.
