How to Voice Your Message, Love Your First Sales and Marketing Rewards
Message to Reward
On October 29, 2021, Amazon deposited the first royalty payments from the sales of my book, 31 Days to Purchasing and Renting Your First Investment Real Estate Property.
Why am I sharing this news when my blog's primary function is to get you as a reader to consider investment real estate as part of your financial portfolio.
Many of you have honored me by reading several blog posts on my book writing journey or have even gone further and purchased my book. (Thank You)
I have been pleasantly surprised at the interest in my writing journey blog posts. Announcing Your Book in the World, How to Raise Remarkable, Rich Words
Because many of you have an idea and a passion for sharing your message, I feel obligated to share what happens when you put pen to paper or fingers on a keyboard.
With my book published ........
Then the Magic Begins
It is rewarding to know that the magic starts to happen with current technology once you set up your account with Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP) and activate your book for sale.
How Long to See Money in Your Bank Account?
Selling your book through Amazon gives you worldwide sales and distribution.
Amazon has over a dozen worldwide markets they sell into and multiple market revenue streams; however, the revenue can deposit into one account; easy peasy. I love it.
Revenue Source First Time Around
The money deposited into my bank account was from two marketplaces, the United States and Canada.
On August 19, 2021, I launched my book and received the August 2021 revenue on October 29, 2021. Am I happy with the amount of time it took to receive my first royalty payments? "Hell Yes!!"
Think about this for a moment, my next royalty payment for September sales will be at the end of November, October's sales at the end of December. So, therefore, as I generate sales every month, from now, royalty deposits every month as long as I am creating actions to produce book sales. (sounds like another topic for a future blog post)
Follow the Money
A good friend of mine, Jim, always says to me when something happens in the world, good or bad, "Follow the Money."
When you write a book, like any product or service, you need to create an opportunity for more earnings.
Additional Revenue Through Expand Distribution
Even though I am ecstatic about using Kindle Direct Publishing to launch my book, Kindle Direct Publishing is all about Amazon.
The trick is to use the lessons you learned to get your book published and marketed through Amazon and take these lessons and create additional revenue through other online and brick-and-mortar retailers.
The objective of most sales organizations is to touch as many points of sale as you possibly can; therefore, allowing your product or service in front of as many consumers or customers as possible.
The Additional How
You should be aware of two organizations you as an author or budding author; one organization for getting your print book to all other worldwide book distributors and one organization to further your ebook reach.
Print Reach
IngramSpark (http://www.ingramspark.com) is a great organization to reach other online and brick-and-mortar retailers for your print books.
When you self-publish with IngramSpark, you plug into one of the publishing industry's largest global book distribution networks, including access to over 40,000 points of sale.
- Independent bookstores
- Online stores
- Chain stores
- Ebook retailers
- Libraries
- Universities
Ebook Reach
Smashwords (https://www.smashwords.com) is the world's largest distributor of indie ebooks. They make it fast, free, and easy for any author or publisher, anywhere globally, to publish and distribute ebooks to the major retailers and thousands of libraries.
The Last Piece of the Distribution Puzzle
The foundation of my book is a result of writing a workbook and planning guide for my clients. The editor of my workbook and planning guide challenged me to write a book to expand the content. Thanks to the pandemic lockdown, I rose to the challenge and wrote my book.
Bad News, Good News
I also launched my workbook and planning guide one day after my book's launch in print through Amazon.
But when it came to launching the digital interactive PDF version of my workbook and planning guide through Amazon, Amazon was honest and put up the caution sign.
Amazon and Kindle Direct Publishing admitted that launching an interactive PDF was not their forte. They suggested as an author; I find a different method of distribution.
This bad news from Kindle Direct Publishing and Amazon that they don't do interactive PDFs well opened the door to another revenue opportunity.
Here is the Good News. Why?
Free Doesn't Pay the Bills.
One big flaw in my website was the inability to provide any form of e-commerce. Even though I give a ton of Free Content through my website, blog posts, podcast shows, and magazine articles, we all know Free doesn't pay the bills.
Setting up e-commerce through your website takes a little effort, and some trial and error; mission accomplished.
