How to Move From Renter to Successful Investment Real Estate Investor
From Tenant to Successful Full-Time Investment Real Estate Investor
How to Move From Renter to Successful Investment Real Estate Investor.
My entire childhood was spent as a tenant in someone else’s home.
My Dad was a member of the Armed Forces. Therefore, every three to four years, my Dad was posted to a different city. Our ultimate posting was four years in Europe.
Can you imagine being a teenager growing up in Europe? The European society was more open. For instance, the age restrictions were lower for many entertainment venues and events, and the opportunities to travel incredible.
Not living in one spot for any length of time created a situation from my infancy to my late teenage years. For all of my youth, we rented each of the homes we lived in.
On a road trip to watch the Toronto Blue Jays, my Dad and I discussed our housing moves. As a result, by the time I turned twenty-one years of age, I had lived in twenty-one different homes; wow!
I have very fond memories of every home we rented as a family.
My parents were respectful of every home we lived in. They asked my brother and me to show our homes the same tender loving care.
The landlords loved us as tenants. For instance, I can remember how friendly these folks were, and often we would receive food hampers delivered to us as thanks for taking care of their property. These food packages, on most occasions, came around Christmas. There were always special treats in these packages.
I asked my parents why we received these hampers?
My Mom and Dad explained it was the landlord’s way of thanking us for treating their properties with tender loving care.
A Special Message to Our Past Landlords as Investors
Everyone needs a roof over their heads, an essential part of life. I can’t think of anything being more nobler than owning investment real estate—owners providing families like ours a more safe, more fun and secure place for a family to live. Our family would never have had anywhere to live if not for investment real estate investors.
Even though I don’t remember the investment real estate owners’ names, I want them to know how special they made my family feel.
Carrying on the Tradition; Renter
My wife, myself and my children purchase investment real estate.
We work hard to give people the same respect we were given growing up as armed forces children looking for a safe, fun and secure place to live.
